THE FRIENDS EXPERIENCE: THE ONE IN TORONTO

The day has finally come, The Friends Experience has arrived in Toronto and I was lucky enough to visit this weekend. Let’s get into my thoughts!

First of all, what is The Friends Experience? The Friends Experience is an exhibit showcasing set recreations, photo ops, costumes and props from the beloved show Friends (1994-2004). This experience is traveling around North America, and has just landed in Toronto.

MY THOUGHTS - I LOVED IT

So I chose to go in pretty blind, and  had no idea what to expect! I have previously done the Warner Bros Studio tour in California, so I assumed there would be some sort of photo-op on the Central Perk couch. But I did not expect this exhibit to be more akin to experiences like The Museum of Ice Cream. This was essentially a series of staged sets organized for the guests to get their optimum photo ops. We got to take photos and videos acting out iconic Friends scenes like: “Pivot!”, “Could I Be Wearing Any More Clothes”, both apartments, “Smelly Cat”, and of course Central Perk!

Having these photo-ops broken up with costume and prop displays really aloud the guests to get really immersed into the world of Friends. My favorite props on display were the signed scripts, and the collection of wigs representing all of Rachel’s hair cuts. They even had full blown up copies of “Science Boy” and Rachel’s 18 page letter so you can read them!

The exhibit was also extremely well organized. There were so many staff members moving guests along, helping out with photo ops, and answering any Friends related questions. Without them, the whole experience would have been a free for all. It was very refreshing to see other guests listening to the rules and being respectful of each other's photos.

This is obviously a big recommendation from me. Especially if you are a Friends fan. Check out The Friends Experience at Yorkdale Mall from July 2022 - January 2023. And don't forget to check their website to see if The Friends Experience is traveling to a city near you.
