The Stranger Things Experience in Toronto: Review

THE Stranger Things HITS TORONTO
Welcome to Hawkins! The Stranger Things Experience has just opened in Toronto. Let’s get into my thoughts!
First of all, what is The Stranger Things Experience? The Stranger Things Experience is an interactive escape room style experience, which immerses you in the world of the beloved show, Stranger Things (2016 - Current). Not only are there live actors and an effect heavy activation, but guests can also take photos on sets from the show, and eat at restaurants Scoops Ahoy and Surfer Boy Pizza. This experience is traveling around North America, and has just landed in Toronto.
MY THOUGHTS
So, I had no idea what to expect from The Stranger Things Experience. I’ve recently done the Friends Experience as well as the Office Experience while they were in Toronto. I had assumed that The Stranger Things Experience would be similar to that. But I was so wrong - IT IS BETTER. And don’t get me wrong, I loved those experiences. But The Stranger Things Experience was unlike anything else I’ve done in Toronto.
Without spoiling the escape room style experience, let me summarize the event. Guests go into Hawkins Laps for a sleep study, where they soon discover having telekinetic abilities, then get trapped in the lab, have to fight your way out, and end up in the upsidedown. (Photography is lot allowed in that part of the experience). Then you exit into the second part, which is food and photo-ops. The special effects inside Hawkins Lab are incredible. Guests really do feel like there is a sense of urgency as they are being “attacked” by demogorgons. When in actuality there are some clever projection and screen effects that simulate an attack. Also the original cast returns for some cameos, and come along on your adventure with you.
I absolutely loved this. I actually have tickets to go back in a few weeks from now with my cousins. The tickets are on the pricer end of Toronto events, but with the live actors and the effects, the price tag is worth it.
YES, A MUST FOR FANS
